We’re excited to help you along your journey to relief. The answer is a resounding yes! Any of the products you’ll find on our online store or in any of our physical locations are legal for recreational use nationwide. That means CBD can be shipped nationwide, too. In light of recent legislation, CBD and other cannabis derivatives are legal in Texas so long as the percentage of delta 9 THC by weight is less than 0.3% (classified as hemp). That also means that delta 9 THC is legal in small quantities, allowing for the use of products like broad-spectrum and full-spectrum CBD that have more cannabinoids than isolate CBD products (cannabinoids being the active compounds in cannabis plants). How do I know if ZAR's CBD products are of good quality? When it comes to your CBD, you’re going to want to make sure the product you choose is high-quality so you can maximize your benefits. Our products undergo independent third-party testing to verify that they are exactly what they say they are. Check out our reports for yourself to see the breakdown and the purity of our products at ZAR. Each report shows the lab that tested the product, which product was tested, and the exact contents of the product. With these resources, you can purchase your cannatherapy products confidently from ZAR. What are the main benefits of taking CBD?The list of benefits that come with CBD is extensive and ever-growing as more and more research is conducted. What are the drawbacks of taking CBD?Like anything else, CBD can’t be perfect. Right? Well, it’s pretty close when you weigh the benefits against the drawbacks. The relatively minor side effects you may experience with CBD include drowsiness and a reduced appetite, both of which may very well be the outcome you’re hoping for. You might also experience dry mouth, a minor side effect that encourages you to drink water at the very least. Learn more about CBD and its potential side effects in our blog. What are the drawbacks of taking delta 8 THC?Delta 8 THC has very similar effects as CBD but is slightly different because it is psychoactive. While that does make it a strong resource to help with mental health, delta 8 THC may impair your ability to drive. Delta 8 THC may also cause a positive drug test for THC, being that drug tests do not normally differentiate delta 8 THC and delta 9 THC. You can always start slow with delta 8 THC to see how it affects you, and you can make adjustments from there. What are ZAR's CBD products made from?In keeping with local and federal laws, ZAR’s products are derived from the flowers of hemp plants. As we touched on earlier, hemp plants are cannabis sativa plants with less than 0.3% delta 9 THC by weight, delta 9 being the primary psychoactive substance in cannabis plants. Hemp plants bud and flower just like cannabis plants (because they are the same plant species) but have differing levels of cannabinoids. Cannabinoids are simply the active compounds of the cannabis plant, which include CBD, THC, and many more. While hemp plants may not have a substantial amount of delta 9 THC, they still contain a great deal of other cannabinoids that may benefit your health. You can find the benefits of all of these cannabinoids with a full-spectrum CBD product. If you’re not sure what that means, we explain the details in our breakdown of full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and isolate CBD products. How does ZAR extract CBD?Being that hemp plants don’t exactly secrete CBD oil, you might be curious how they are transformed from plant form into oil form. CBD and other cannabinoids can be extracted from hemp in several ways, but the two most common methods in the commercial CBD industry are CO2 extraction and ethanol extraction. CO2 CBD extraction CO2 is used at high pressures for this process, where it takes on gaseous and liquid properties that allow it to pull the CBD from the organic matter (the hemp). What’s left after some purification steps is pure hemp oil. While the process is quite complicated and takes a trained professional to perform, it is an excellent extraction method that is highly efficient and makes the most out of the hemp used in the process. Ethanol (Solvent) CBD extraction For ethanol extraction, hemp flower is soaked in concentrated ethanol (the very same type of alcohol found in beer, wine, and spirits) where the cannabinoids are pulled out of the flower and into solution. Because ethanol is a solvent (which is what makes it a great cleaner as well), the cannabinoids present are pulled out of the hemp flower. This process is marginally less complicated than CO2 extraction but still requires a trained professional to produce a reliable and high-quality product fit for consumption. Are there any other chemicals in ZAR's products?Let’s get a little sciency. Before we answer this question, know that the term “chemicals” is often misused. Let’s give an example. Pure, life-essential water is, by definition, a chemical. What we often fail to recognize is the difference between artificial chemicals and natural chemicals. With that in mind, yes, the products at ZAR intentionally contain additional natural chemicals to CBD. From natural base oils to help with absorption to the myriad of other cannabinoids (which are natural chemical compounds) available in our products, everything in our products is designed to help you get relief. If you prefer your CBD products to be virtually unprocessed, ZAR has a variety of hemp flower products available to you that are pulled directly from the hemp plant. These include everything from simple hemp flower to pre-rolls. For more information, book a free consultation with one of our cannatherapy experts today! What about the other cannabinoids? The main cannabinoids just about everyone has heard of are CBD and THC, delta 9 THC being the variant most commonly referenced. These are some of the most abundant cannabinoids in cannabis plants, but there are many more cannabinoids that are naturally produced by cannabis plants and found in cannabis products. These additional cannabinoids may offer an abundance of health benefits and can be found in full-spectrum CBD products. There are well over a hundred additional cannabinoids that have been identified, and the main cannabinoids you’ll come across are included in the table below. Most cannabinoids won’t produce a “high,” but their wealth of pharmacological benefits are continually being proven through scientific studies.
