How New Legislation Affects Your Access to Smokable Hemp Products If you keep up on the news as it relates to the hemp industry, you know that the Texas Supreme Court just made a big decision in June of 2022 when it comes to smokable hemp. While there is a lot of uncertainty as to what exactly that decision was and what it means for the consumers who depend on hemp products for relief, we at ZAR have dug through the details to clear up the confusion.
The good news is smokable hemp is still legal for sale and for use in Texas, even after changes in legislation related to smokable hemp. The not-so-good news is that the Texas Supreme Court has now banned the production of smokable hemp within the state of Texas. We’ll get into the specifics of the distinction shortly. All of this confusion and new legislation comes as a result of the Texas Supreme Court Case No. 21-1045. This case challenged a previous ruling that argued the due-course clause in the Texas Constitution protected smokable hemp production, which had previously been banned prior to 2019. So what really changed and how might this affect you? Let’s demystify this new Legislation. Delta-10-tetrahydrocannabinol (Delta 10 THC) has been attracting a lot of interest. No surprise there, it is a comparatively new cannabinoid, and there is still a lot to learn about it; plus, the cannabis world is constantly changing, with riveting developments happening frequently.
So, it wouldn't be surprising that even for a seasoned cannabis enthusiast, sifting through all of the information out there can be overwhelming—which is why we have provided a detailed guide and explanation of Delta 10 THC.
There are a few cannabinoids that have been making big waves among the canna therapy community, those being HHC, THC-O, and delta-10 THC. Whether you’re just now hearing of these or you’re lost as to what they are and what they can do, we at ZAR are here to clear up the confusion once and for all.
HHC, THC-O, and delta-10 are all distinct cannabinoids, just like delta-8 THC, delta-9 THC, and CBD. What makes them unique from delta-9 THC and CBD is that they’re synthetic compounds that can be made from CBD, preserving their legality with current legislation. When it comes to canna therapy products, there are a lot of terms that can get thrown around without slowing down to explain what they mean, and that can make the whole world of CBD rather confusing. We’re here to fix that. We at ZAR believe canna therapy (canna therapy being remedies made from the cannabis plant) should be accessible to all who can benefit from it, so we’re happy to help you along your journey to relief from informational exploration to real-life implementation. Let’s start by digging into the difference between CBD and hemp.
To put it simply, hemp is the plant where CBD comes from most frequently. Just about all hemp will have some CBD content, the levels of which can vary depending on the plant’s genetics. In Texas, only CBD derived solely from hemp plants is legal to possess and use. |
